What is this workshop about?
According to the literature, at least 70% of people have experienced Impostor Syndrome at some point in their lives. This is a common cognitive pattern in the workplace that, while not a psychopathological condition, has real consequences. It can lead to self-doubt, anxiety, and stress, and often hinders personal and professional growth. Associates with Impostor Syndrome may struggle to internalize their achievements, fearing that they are frauds despite evidence of their competence. Over time, this can affect job satisfaction, productivity, and overall career progression.
In this workshop, we will discuss what Impostor Syndrome is, its antecedents and triggers, typologies, and characteristics. We will also address the consequences of Impostor Syndrome, the role of companies, and personal strategies to break this cycle.
